JUST A REGULAR GIRL , CELEBRITY DREAMS- - - SHE IS 9 0 2 1 0 - - - * * * Sniffling slightly, the young pink haired girl felt like she had become well enough to venture out into the world. Pulling back the sheer curtains in her bedroom, she got ready for the day. She spent no more than half an hour in the washroom, quickly washing, drying and fixing her hair. Getting dressed, on the other hand, was a completely different story. Pulling and sifting through her items in her closet. It was definitely on the chillier side of the temperature scale and she was going to be going outside. Her cold was nearly gone, or so she figured, but she was still going to bundle up a little to be safe. Pulling on some leggings, and a random shirt, she figured she was set for the day. Lauren slipped on some heels and a light jacket before nabbing her keys and cellphone (her life line) and walking out the door to meet with Victoria for lunch. The young women walked down a small flight of stairs, pushing a door open as she left and walked out into Beverly Hills. Thinking about her life, waking up to the Hollywood dream, as some would call it, she felt like she was starting to take it all for granted. Not every girl got to wake up with the HOLLYWOOD sign to greet them in the morning. Lauren felt privileged to say the least.
* * * Heels clicked against the sidewalk toward her car, her purse slung loosely over her shoulder. Looking at the world from gem covered glasses. Everyone sort of knew that Lauren did things over the top. Whatever she had, she’d make it better. There was no such thing as too much glitz and glam. A sigh fell from her pink frosted lips. The one thing she didn’t like was all the smog. You win some; you lose some; that’s what she always said. It felt like she hadn’t been out in public for decades when really it was only a few days. Damn sickness. She turned up the radio a little while she was stuck in some late afternoon traffic, how typical. Everyone knew that Lauren was the red light queen. It didn’t matter who she was with, how early she left, any time she was driving or driving with someone, they would hit every red light possible. Fingers gently tapped on steering wheel. Eventually she’d make it to Chinatown. Her life depended on it.
* * * She hadn’t exactly seen Victoria recently, minus Laur being sick. Their bosses hadn’t exactly been together lately, and being separated sucked. Coffee runs by herself were boring, and the same with any other errand she was forced to do. Being a personal assistant wasn’t the most glamorous job ever, but she didn’t really mind it. It was something to keep her occupied until her own business took off. She found a spot, parking her car quickly before anyone else could nab it. She was meeting up with her friend for Chinese, something they usually did when they had time to spare for lunch or dinner. When the children they called their bosses weren’t demanding all 200% of their attention. ‘Two people please...” Following the hostess to a booth by the window, Lauren plopped herself down, setting her bag and jacket off to the side. Asking for water while she waited, Lauren was completely excited about this little rendezvous. Making a mental note, she realized she needed to have these little meet-ups more often, maybe even if she was a bit on the sickly side. Seeing her friend near the hostess, a bright smile appeared on her face. She was sure that waving Victoria down would have been completely embarrassing, so she stayed put, with her hands gently but patiently in her lap, sliding slowly to the edge of her seat so she could jump up and hug her co-worker once she was close enough.

___________________________________________ it was so funny to victoria how a new job kind of put her in a new atmosphere. for once, she was actually meeting new people and making friends. and she had met brogan, darling brogan, who already asked her out on a date. well... not a date per-say but more like an outing to go get coffee. really though, she would have had no problem saying it was a date if it wasn't for the piece of shit she was currently stuck with. because of him she had almost disagreed to going out with brogan for fear of manny finding out but she decided that she was going to take a risk. after all, she was the one that was going to have to pay for it later, not brogan, and she figured that brogan was worth it. stupid, she knew but she wasn't about to turn down her chance with brogan under any circumstances or any other outings with anyone else for that matter. so needless to say she was entirely excited to venture into china town to meet up with her friend and fellow employee, lauren. victoria wasn't sure if she would actually have the time to go to eat between running to the dry cleaners to pick up her bosses clothing and running to the printing place to pick up fliers for some CD release party that he was hosting. although, she quickly finished everything up in time and he agreed to letting her go out for lunch so she quickly texted her friend and said that she was on her way.
victoria drove way over the speed limit through the streets of LA, only slowing down when she finally hit the outskirts of chinatown. finally she reached the parking lot and parked her car before grabbing her purse and hopping out. her high heels clacked quickly over the payment as she jogged to the front door of the restaurant and up the stairs before walking inside. sweeping her hair out of her face with a hand she gave the hostess a sheepish smile. "my friend should be here already... a pink haired girl," she quickly stated before taking a breath. the hostess gave her an understanding smirk and pointed off amongst the tables at lauren who was already patiently waiting at a table. "thank you." and then victoria was off again, walking quickly down the aisle until she reached lauren. "i hope you weren't waiting long. the traffic was horrendous," she explained as she gave her friend a hug before she pulled off her jacket and threw it over the back of her chair. then she sat down and looked over at her co-worker. "so how are you feeling hun? are you any better?"

JUST A REGULAR GIRL , CELEBRITY DREAMS- - - SHE IS 9 0 2 1 0 - - - * * * Really Lauren felt like she hadn’t been sitting there too long. She had added some tea to her little order of water and even partially thought about pre-ordering food. She wasn’t sure how much time Victoria exactly had on her hands. Being a personal assistant had its ups and downs that was for sure. Being on someone else’s time always sort of irked Lauren. She was the kind of person that wanted a strict schedule, she wanted to know what she would be doing in about an hour from the moment she checked the time. The ups being of course recognition and being “out there”. People knew who you were. Everything that was potentially going to affect her boss was run by her first, making sure he had the time no previous appointments or commitments. They had to go through you first for everything which was kind of cool in her books. Her stomach took a beating from it, never really having much time to sit and eat something. Granola bars were her best friend, along with a trusted bottle of water.
* * * Hugging her friend tightly, it had been a bit since she had seen her and all. Lauren had lived in LA for a while now and it was fun to meet new people. When she met Victoria, she was a little sceptical at first, like she was with just about everyone. Obviously, the co-worker grew on her and soon enough they became friends. “It was pretty busy on the way over, but you know how it is. Weaving is my best skill when it comes to cars and traffic.” The young woman laughed lightly. The girl sniffled a little, as if on cue. “Oh, you know, I’m alive. Still able to work... from home and all!” She chuckled again. A hand reached up, gently combing through her hair and pushing her bangs back a bit so that she could see her lunch date; “But I mean, I’m getting better. I’m not coughing and throwing up everywhere. Obviously that’s a huge improvement!” A grin flushed her lips, pushing her cheeks up high and balling them slightly. She looked down at the menu she was handed for a bit, sort of forgetting the common etiquette of asking how the other woman was. Starvation was taking over slowly. Her soft brown eyes giving the menu a once over before repeating a few more times, trying to decide what she wanted. “AHH how are you? And like .. what are you going to eat? I’m stuck between stir-fry and some this .. well however you say it..” She turned her menu around, pointing to the item she was talking about. She really didn’t like embarrassing herself in public, well she didn’t mind so much, but hacking a language wasn’t always impressive.
* * * A soft breath escaped through her nose, “How’s work going for you today? I guess it’s not too busy considering you’re allowed to sit and eat here with me.” Things were pretty hectic running around back and forth, here and there. It made for a good work out. Her fingers gently wrapped around her tea, bringing it close to her lips sipping back the hot contents without really blowing first. She always had a habit of burning her tongue. Carefully, she set the cup down before her hands began to fiddle with her napkin and utensils. She always had a habit of fidgeting or fiddling with things when she found herself kind of at a loss for words or unoccupied with something. Lauren always had to be doing something. It was being a busy body always had its downfalls. She felt like she always needed to be doing something, needed to be working, singing, dancing, playing, talking, moving, and advancing. Doing something meant that she wasn’t doing nothing. Doing nothing meant that she was just being lazy and unproductive, two words that never really sat well in Lauren’s books. Having cancer, she sort of grew to appreciate every moment she was given and never to let it go to waste. That did include taking proper care of yourself, however, Lauren often neglected that.
